Colt McAllister Holster

The Old West fast draw is generally a myth as holsters of the day were not amenable to a fast draw. It took Hollyweird's steel-lined Buscadero rigs to facilitate fast draw. The modern SASS rigs have more in common with those rigs than the old west.
Colt McAllister Rig
The Colt McAllister rig was designed for shooters who prefer a higher ride holster for their sixguns. Sitting high on the belt the holsters incorporate a slight muzzle forward cant, allowing you to draw without breaking your wrist. By minimizing wrist movement on the draw you will be able to acquire a sight picture in one fluid motion.

Loaded with features for the dedicated cowboy action shooter, the new Colt McAllister rig keeps the look of the Old West alive while taking advantage of lessons learned in the arena of competitive shooting sports.

Angled Away Holsters
The holsters are angled away from the body, allowing for a sure grip and a great first shot.

Flared Out Top
Molded for a perfect fit to your specific revolver, the holster tops are flared out for one handed reholstering.
Easy Access Trigger
Exposed trigger guard will help with your offhand pistol draws.  This makes grabbing the weak hand gun around the cylinder so that when you hand it over to the strong hand, the grip is free, making for a much more secure transfer.

Muzzle Forward Cant
Sitting high on the belt the holsters incorporate a slight muzzle forward cant, allowing you to draw without breaking your wrist. By minimizing wrist movement on the draw you will be able to acquire a sight picture in one fluid motion.

Tension Screws
Locked to the belt with tension screws the holsters can be repositioned and set to one place on the belt. The holsters position on the belt will aid in building muscle memory for smoother pistol draws
Kydex Lined
Kydex lining sandwiched between the outer and inner layers of leather add a little bit of retention as well as keep the holsters shape from changing for years to come.

Cut Down Front
Cutting down the front of the holsters to clear leather sooner. Kirkpatrick Leather led a quiet revolution in holsters, unnoticed by the gun writers. Their holsters look like old west holsters, but they're Kydex lined, angles are optimized, and various tricks are used to make them faster and more efficient. SASS Wire wags would call them "Gamy" holsters.

Deuce Stevens Colt McAllister
The Colt McAllister Rig - Model CTMA is a competitive, cowboy action rig, built for speed. It features hand molding for a perfect fit, rolled-out edges for smooth reholstering and exposed trigger guard with cut-down front for quick first shots.

The extra-wide molded skirt is designed for comfort and stability and the slight drop with slight muzzle-forward cant allows the revolver to be drawn without breaking the wrist at an uncomfortable angle. The holsters are molded away from the body for a unobstructed draw and a kydex lining with adjustable tension screw allows the holster to be set in one place for consistency.
